Well the new year has started.
We haven't moved yet.
In case I haven't talked about it. The sister that I'm sharing my room with wants to move out. She was helping a co-worker apartment shop in NJ and saw some nice affordable places. So she started to think of moving over there. I'm grateful that she just thought that I would go with her. I hope to have better luck looking for work over there.
At some point another co-worker ended up in this move. And she comes with a little girl. So then I was turned into the live in nanny, but at least I would still get my own room. They will be looking for a three bedroom with a living room that can be turned into a bed room. We have lived without one for so long, that it would be odd to have one. I don't think my sister has had a living room since she lift St. Kitts. By the time we get one, if ever, it would be mostly treated like extended space for the kitchen. :)
Either way, we aren't suppose to move until Feb,which is just around the corner. The other girl wants to use her Tax Refund money to pay for her share of the down payment. The real estate people my sister is working with wants to her to sign about the same day that she goes looking, so she isn't going until she has the money and having it line up with some kind of move in date that the land lords have. I'm not all that sure about that part. I just know that when it gets going, a lot of things will happen very quickly.
Which also includes moving my mom from the room she is in, to our now empty one. Both of us don't like her in there just for the junk that my sister has piled up next her bed and around the room in general. I know I'll be in deep pain when those days are over.
Now back in late December, I ended up baby sitting for a few days while the mom worked, but the school was closed and she couldn't get someone to look after the girl on a few days that week. Yes, it's the same girl and co-worker mentioned above. It turns out they live, very, very close to us.
I thought she was eight, but found out that she was five. Five! How am I suppose to relate to a 5 year old? I ended up doing a few of the thing I had already planed to, but a few little things changed and others weren't like how I expected, but amazingly, the girl had fun.
I took her to the museum. I was suppose to show her the houses, but they are currently having a shoes exhibition called 'Killer Heals'. You should swing by if you can. It's there for a few more weeks.
We went through the African exhibition first. She liked the first part better than the last. They had a tower of Buddhas, and we ended up playing a little game in trying to find them from this catalog they had next to the tower. That was one part she liked. I kept running into the issue that she couldn't really read anything. So most of things just went by her. When we reached the shoes thing, she looked at the movies and videos that were bright and moving oddly. I participated with passing conversations on the shoes themselves and took a few pics to send to my friend. Turns out there were no bars in there, but I sent them later.
By the time we sat down to watch a video of how shoes were made, she started to yawn. So we got our stuff and headed home. In the rain. It had to rain that day. In fact, I had to go back and get the umbrella. I wasn't the only one. So it took a while.
The next time she was here I think we made cookies. She liked cracking the eggs, but she was rather dainty about everything else. I'm inclined to believe that it was her age and being unsure, but she didn't jump into playing with messy stuff like I think she would. So a win and a fail at the same time. She helped to make about 5 of each. I was left to do the rest. They didn't turn out like how I expected at all. No, I don't bake. The oatmeal cookies were suppose to be chewy, but they were hard. Not bad, but not chewy at all. The almond butter cookie dough was ... wrong, but they tasted the best. :)
Either way, on the last day I took her back to the museum to see the houses. She seemed to like that and we saw a tree growing up through a piano on the same floor. I also knew that I would be getting the job of looking after her afters school on a regular bases. Then just make sure that I knew I was right, my sister said the co-worker wanted to take the girl out of the after school program and would be asking me if I could look after her. So about a week before my birthday, which was the 12th BTW, I started to pick her up from school about 2:30 and watch her until her mom picker her up. We came up with $50 a week. Was it worth getting La, La, Loopsy stuck in my head?
Well this Monday was the last time I picked her up. Her mother called, well texted, that some family members were in town and they wanted to look after her for a while. How long that will last, I don't know, but if we do move in together, I'm back on call. It felt a little cut off since I was going to take her to the garden so she could play in the snow on Wednesday.
The Thursday before I had an interview with DSW. I got all dressed up and had them dry cleaned too. The same day I thought that it was a very good interview, even if they had me waiting for almost 2 hours, if not over. But as the days went by I saw everything I did wrong. Then I got an e-mailing saying that I wasn't picked. I'm not going to bother looking for work again until I move. What's the point? Maybe I might be able to keep it, or I'll have to quit about a week in? Or they just won't bother hiring me because I'll be changing addresses.
So now what?... nothing. At least nothing off line.
Later.

Forced to Masturbate for College Class?
This was my comment to video that you will find below.
===
This I'm sure was not a required class. I'm sure that there was material telling you what to expect in this class. It's not the teacher's fault if you didn't read it. And you can drop the class if you took it in error.
Like someone said before, he didn't come up with this idea that morning. He had to get permission to have this class with a plan of what he was going to ask for and teach in it. We have one person complaining about this class. The other people even said that they knew what the class was about, which is one of the reasons why they are there.
As for this showing the depths of which the education system is sinking, that happened years and years ago when kids were being allowed to graduate high school not really knowing how to read. Talk about the injustice of being undereducated, rather than a course that consenting adults choose to attend, that want to go through this kind of experience.
As for the lady who is the cause of this lawsuit, being embarrassed and shocked isn't something to sue someone over. We are suppose to learn about ourselves when we are in college, and if this is one way some of us choose to do that, it's not your place to tell them that they can't because you believed the class was too frank about what you would be doing while attending that class.
I see a misunderstanding, and not a lawsuit here. But then, I wasn't raised to sue people over something I could change or made a mistake in.
I can understand how privacy is a big question here. Assignments and such need names on them so that credit and grades go to that person. It is possible to believe that the standard "writing of your name" was replaced with a number system, so he could award grades without knowing who submitted them. Was there any evidence of this? How were assignments suppose to be handed in? Was this even looked into?
Everyone in the clip seem to have jumped to the idea that everyone walked up to the desk and handed in papers and the teacher is some old guy jerking off over them in his house. I can tell you right now, that unless he has some English majors, most of what he will be reading with be dry, none story form, quick and to the point facts, and more than likely looked at as nothing more than his job, and something he has to make time for. I have tried to get people to tell me about this when they seem interested in me and it's like pulling teeth to get any real set of details out of them. Granted, these students took the class, so they might be more forthcoming, but I can also see them with a Freud book open on their lap as they themselves try to explain to him why they might be thinking such things. Like I said. He will see it as a job to be done. Not sexy time in the man cave or what have you.
Also, what is his title? I would believe that he would have some therapy background. A doctor with a few years experience in the real world where he's more than likely heard far more than you would think. Do you think he got into the field to jerk off over class work, after seeing patients one on one for who knows how many years?

Don't get pulled in by the photo. Most of the people who left comments were. No one was forced to masturbate in class.

The Truth About Red Velvet Cake
I'm not happy to find out that I was handed a myth as fact and believed it. But I guess it was bound to happen one of these days. And I liked the myth because I liked beets.
So here is the link that will answer just about every question that you may have about Red Velvet Cake and whatever other name it might have and still goes by depending on a few factors.
It's a long read, at least for me, and at the end you have a recipe. :)
Enjoy.

The Other Shoe Has Dropped
I got the news Sunday night.
You may be allowed to be human and make a few mistakes in a number of other jobs, but you really can't when you are estimating a construction project.
I'm not even sure how some mistakes were made. One was really a bad over sight on my part. Another one was due to being rushed. The other project that they said I did something wrong with, I haven't a clue what went wrong there.
I hate feeling like I can't even count. But it is more than just that. It only hurts as much as it does, because I was starting to feel like I was making it. I don't think I made the same mistakes twice, and since I was leaning just about everything for the first time, I was slightly proud of myself at times.
So I went in Monday afternoon to pick up my last check and go home with Nardi. The girl that recommended me for the job in the first place.
I was just making the joke last week Friday that I pulled enough over time to be able to buy myself a new dress. Now it looks like I will have to save that for Office Management school. It's too late to start this semester, but I can apply for the winter one.
At least I got my day out before I had to think of all this.
On Sunday I went over to Governor's Island. I think I may go on Sunday once more. I'll dress better for the occasion. I looked like a disaster last time. Also, I was so late getting there, that I missed most of the events. I'm trying to shake up my stay at home body. Even if I have no one to do all this with. Why? People do stuff until they find people to do stuff with. It's just that events are just about never shown as a solo even. Everyone has friends that have the same time off to do things together all the time.
This time when I go out my cam will be fully charged and I can get some more pics. I just got a scant few of flowers, a telephone type sculpture and the Statue of Liberty. :)
Ok.
I'm doing ok and I'm moving on.

What's the story behind the traditional haircut associated with monks?
This was a question I found myself asking myself today. It just came to me.
Well I went on line and found this answer. It seems to be coming from a cathlic site. There will be link at the bottom.
Mostly it's it got started so far back, they can only guess as to why, but it was adopted easy enough and now it's a given thing that is also some kind of status thing.
For the list of how it could have come about. check the link. :) Oh, the hair cut actually has a name. Tonsure.
