I did see it

And I liked it.

I'm not seeing it three and four times like some people, but I did think it was good.

Some Jerk stole my package 😡

So Friday or so I broke the new 6-foot power cord for my new iPhone 6S and so I had to buy it back. So I go online to Amazon and ordered a three pack for $12.

It said that it would get here Tuesday. Fine. I didn't think anything of it. Then on Saturday, I got a call at about 8am asking if could cover their shift for them on Monday from 12 till 5. I said sure. I go to work, find out that they cut the guy's hours, but they let me stay and work the 5 hours. Yeah. I will get a little more than $100 for this week if, if, Saturday is included in my work week. I don't remember. If not, then I get something for the week instead of nothing.

Then I had to live through a ride home with Esra. I have never believed in seatbelts more than I did before my first ride with him the week before. Anyway, I survived this trip better than the last and I got home less than an hour after my shift officially ended.

I hurried up onto the porch because he was being bossy and didn't let me put back on my pants under my skirt. I saw that the tile box was out of place, but I thought my landlord moved it or placed it there for something.

I go upstairs and turn on my phone. The guy was in a rush to leave so I didn't get to turn it on either. When I did, it's telling me that my package was delivered that day at 11:48am. But I know I didn't see it downstairs. So something was up.

Maybe it was a glitch and they hadn't really delivered it yet. Since I was told it wasn't going to get here until Tuesday. I asked my sister if she saw a package when she got home since I was upstairs cooking since I got home.

She didn't see anything.

So I waited. I waited almost two days. Yesterday afternoon I went to ask my landlord, who lives on the first floor, if he was holding a package for me. He said no, but he did remember seeing a package on the porch in the chair. He then called the lady that just moved in upstairs to see if she saw it or might have picked it up by accident.

She said no. To moving it that is, I don't know if she said she saw it or not. So my landlord was just about to cook so he said he would call me back down to look at the video to see if it was really delivered or not in a little bit. We got down to the almost 30 mins before I got home and with the dying of the light, a guy walking by the house walks back, looks in and sees the package on the chair and steals it.

He frelling steals my package! He doesn't have a clue what is inside. It could be something medical. It could have lip gloss. It could have been kid stickers! And he just filched it! We watch him walk down the block and when I thought that he was going to enter the building on the corner but he walked past that and up the block.

Great. GREAT!

So I reordered the cords. Considering I'm about to enter the pay period of no pay, I'm far from thrilled. So, Amazon is saying it's coming this Saturday. When I have work again. But my sister will be here, and I'll have her check for me.

It's the first time that anything has been stolen off our porch. And since the kive looked to be just walking by until he saw the package, I believe it was a one-off thing.

Such A Long Day...

It started at 7 or 8 am today. My sister came and woke me up. I agreed to go with her to an opening party for a dentist friend of her's. She wanted to get there at 9 something and scope the place out for like 15-30 then get out.

It didn't work out that way. First, we missed a bus that I knew we weren't going to make, so I didn't leave my room, never mind our apartment and then she wasn't talking clearly and it was mini fight that ended up with us waiting for the 107 and getting to test out our NJ transit app by buying tickets to NYC.

BTW, it's $6 for the trip.

So we get on the bus and it's packed. My sister said that she's never seen so many people on the bus going into the city before. She has taken that bus a lot more than I have. So we get in and go down like three flights of stairs to the subway to go downtown.

We get there maybe 15 mins till 10 and my sister is oh-ing and ah-ing over every little thing. She, of course, had far more fun than I did. The kids and babies were there with their parents, and we outlasted them. Not that well on my end, but we did. I waved the flag first so that got my sister moving into getting ready to leave. She was at her end too with just 4 people left in the party.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I asked for OJ and it was spiked. They were making mimosas and it didn't occur that didn't drink. The hostess couldn't quite remember that I couldn't eat milk products either. But she was busy and it was something easily forgotten. I just bring it up because she kept telling me to eat something, and there was cheese everywhere if it wasn't already made out of butter. 😒

I normally have a pill or two on me in case I needed it, but I couldn't find them until after I put a sandwich back. They were in the pocket of my pants instead of in my bag where I expected to find it. BTW, I tried artichoke today. I liked it.

So, we talked about going to see a movie afterwards. Heck, we talked about going to see a movie before we left NJ. But while we were at the party, near the end, I found a place that was showing the movies we both wanted to watch. I was going to see 'The Shape Of Water' and she was going to watch the last 50 Shades of Grey movie.

So image my surprise when we have left the party and about to leave the building and she tells me that we are going to the Bronx. She is taking me to see tombstones. For my mom's grave and anyone else that ends up buried there with her.

15 mins later I forgot and then was reminded that the 6 train is local so it takes us about an hour to get our stop in the Bronx from lower Manhattan. Now the ordeal beings.

Firstly, my sister didn't have their address so that lead to about three calls. Two of them telling us that their address was 2525 Laffeatte St. Next, standing in the downpour of rain for a Bx40 bus that we were told would get us there, but then having to use my maps app to see what stop and that we had to walk about 10 blocks after we get out of the bus in the downpour of rain in 44 degree weather.

We then think we get there, but the address doesn't match up and the person my sister went inside to talk to was too busy and she left without confirming if they were the place or not. So we walk for another 5 or so mins to then realize that we did pass them and that they didn't know their own address. So back we walk and by this time the rain has dripped off our coats enough that our thighs and knees are now soaked through with rain.

So I'm miffed and make a snarky comment that he didn't hear and then proceded to narrowing down the details. Now, until today I thought we were just getting a gravestone for just my mom. But when we stopped by the first time I was informed that it was a three-person lot. So I thought up the words and something of design as we walked to in the rain away from and back to the place again.

We learned a few things. I learned that everyone gets ripped off by the cemeteries if they want a headstone. I don't know what the price is for other places, but where our mom is buried at, you have to pay $601for a foundation to hold up the headstone. At worst, that bill should be $100 and then they mock you by giving you the bill of $601. 01! Like we know it's an outrageous number, but just so you know it's outrageous, here is an extra dollar to show we don't care.

So after the design and stone picking the grand total is somewhere around $2700. It could have been $300 cheaper if we didn't get a stone that needed to be imported. But we didn't get to pay for it then and there because my sister's bank app wasn't working to let her transfer the money. And she didn't have the deed, and she needed to make sure if she wrote her name the same as what was on the deed. Sometimes she uses her middle initials sometimes she doesn't.

So after all that, we called an uber to take us back to the train station. We got all the way to the Path station and ran to use the bathroom. Then we got something to eat and took it with us to NJ to eat while watching a movie. Surprise, surprise. They were not showing 'The Shape Of Water' but 50 Shades was there of course. The place was actually busy. Every time I went before, it was just about a ghost town. Oh, I was going to watch Maze Runner instead. I'm not watching 50 Shades.

So we stand in a long line and make it to the front to hear the teller tell the person in front of us that they weren't accepting cards. Their internet was down. I just turned around walked to the exit. My sister said something to the teller and when she understood, she then told everyone in line that they were only accepting cash.

So. Back out into the pouring rain.

We called and Uber to take us home. And that is how our day ended. Sitting in the living room, eating food from Manhattan while watching DS9 on Netflix.

Well, almost. I was falling asleep and dropped my new iPhone. Well, it's new to me, but it's my sister's hand me down 6S. And I broke off the power cable pin in the phone. The phone is fine and I pulled it out ok, but now I have to get a new cable. So I ordered a set of three from Amazon just now. I'll get them on Tuesday. I'll just have to use the shorter one until then. It was a brand new 6 foot one that she got last Friday too.

The Cops Knocked On My Door Again

Nope. A car didn't explode again.

Nope. It was not another car chase after a drug dealer.

Nope. No one was shot.

Someone was stabbed this time.

Be right back. ... maybe. My sister needs the computer for something.

1:19am - Back.

So what was I saying?

Oh yeah, cops knocking at my door.

Someone was assaulted next to my building and I saw part of it.

I'm fine. I didn't actually see the attack. I heard people shouting in the street. Too common over here. Then I heard this buzzing sound and got up to look at my new little heater that I just got last week and when it occurred to me that it sounded like a taser, I looked outside and saw a guy on the ground and another guy over him like he was checking his pockets for something.

There was a lady with him and she had something that had a red light to it. It could have been her phone for all I know. They left the guy on the ground and walked over to their house when I car left the driveway of the house they were in front of. The whole time he was shouting at the guy, who is still laying on the ground, that he would kill him if he came back into his house.

I looked around to see if I was the only one looking down on this and I wasn't. A few someones from across the street saw them too. So I figured enough people had seen at this point and that I didn't need to call the cops myself.

Then when I was about to leave, the guy came back out asking the man why he was still on the ground and that he wasn't hurt that bad. Then before he got too close he backed up and started shouting again how he would kill him if he came back into his house and that he paid for everything and he didn't want him going near his bitch, which I thought was odd he was calling his girlfriend that, and he went back inside.

For all I know the guy on the ground messed with his girlfriend and he beat him over it, and she was out there she wasn't ok with what he did to her.

Then I went back to watching tv and then I don't know how much longer it was before people were ringing my bell. I look outside and there are like 3 cop cars and an ambulance.

I went downstairs and hang out on the porch with my landlord. They woke him up it seems. I think he was a bit surprised to see the flashing lights when he opened the door. I talked with my landlord until the cops saw us and came over to ask if we saw anything. I gave them my short statement then came back upstairs. They then rang my bell again about 10 mins later to get my number. Then I actually fell asleep and they called my phone to wake me up, to come downstairs. They then asked, badly, for me to go with them to give an official statement.

I'm marveling at how my night is turning out and turn to come back upstairs to get dressed when the detectives came over. One of them takes my statement then and there while the other one talked to my landlord about getting a copy of what his cams caught.

Yeah, about two years back he got them at least two or so and stuck them on his house. I think there might be one on the porch too. I once joked about getting access to the field, but I haven't pressed for it.

That happened Monday night.

Oh. As the detective finished taking my statement, I saw snow falling behind her. It looked nice in an odd way. There were no more flashing lights and the only light I really saw was from the street lamp. The light on the porch had already gone out. All the lights in the stairwell and on the porch are turned on my motion and turned off by the lack thereof.
