I’m on time. Really.

Yesterday I was asked if I could come in earlier since I started at 12 instead of the 11 I’ve been coming in for the past week. I said no, but I did half try to show up for 11 but my body just wasn’t on board other than waking up at 7:30 this morning.

But I am feeling good.

On my first bus now. Later.

What is today...?

I thought I knew when I woke up today, but it didn't really hit me until I was on my first break and talking to one of my managers.

Then it hit me that tomorrow is my last day before I get my two days off. I don't know what next week looks yet. I almost don't care.

I missed the two buses to get to me work early enough to buy my lunch from the FoodTruck so I got another chicken sandwich from Jubilee. The upside, I like (really like) their Garlic Aioli sauce. I won't lie, the rest of it is good too, juicy chicken, nice bun and there is a whole piece of lettuce in there.

I thought my day was doing well, even if I had to change just about every sign in the Men's department and it ended up taking a long time because I was also on register and the price scanner was slow. It's a great day when you don't have enough time to count to twenty between scanning something and the machine telling you what it's currently selling for.

I heard that Century 21 was closing down. We have one of their distribution centers down the street. Now my manager knows why this one lady came by two days in a row to ask about a job.

So the day was winding down and I'm counting the hours until I get to leave, rain or not. I had my umbrella, rain coat and new weather boots with me since it was raining when I left this morning. Then the music is turned off, and they start to count out the registers. Then I'm called up to cash rep to find out I'm short $20. By the time we left, after 8 pm, we believe that we figured out what happened to the twenty. Some how, I don't know how, but some how, I counted wrong three times, and gave and extra $20 back to a customer when she gave me too much money to start with. We checked the cams.

It's the first time I've messed up on the till since I started working there, so no one is really worried about it and it was an honest mistake, that as a human I'm allowed if not expected, to have.

Since we left so late and it was pouring out, I got a lift to my second bus. My second bus flew down JFK and despite my app saying that it would take 28 mins to get home, we made it in like 20. Then my sister fed me soup that had lime in it. LIME! ðŸ¤¢ Don't put lime in goat soup. Just don't.

What is left to talk about?

Oh, we are having something of mini live floor set. It started yesterday and I don't know if it will end on Friday.

I will not talk about Trump. Don't expect me to.

Later.

I didn’t know what on earth I was doing.

Hint, I’m the only black person there. I even put on pants/jeans for this. They annoyed me for the whole day.

Later. At work now. I was just sent the file.

Day 6, and I’m ok.

Missed the ‘r’ bus by 2 mins, but I wasn’t trying to catch it. But as I was walking across the street I realized that I was traveling rather light. Then remembered my jean jacket. Once the buses don’t try to freeze me, I’m fine with leaving it at work. I don’t wear it anywhere else. I bought it for work. They have this layering rule for wearing tee once it’s not summertime.

Which for us started today.

I was talking to my manager and we were talking about how I was just going to sleep for most of Saturday, but she said that I shouldn’t do that. She made a good case that had me thinking of going to the big park about 6 blocks from my new place so I use my new cam and justify the money I’m spending for it. I think it goes all the way down to the shoreline, so there is that.

But I can feel that I won’t be able to actually just sleep the day away, but I may not have the drive to leave my house.

When our state went into lockdown I didn’t start to think that I should get out for at least a walk for a month.

Anyway. I did pay her back for my shirts and the link for the tic tok thing is on its way.

I’m going to try to show up early tomorrow so I can lunch from the food truck. I miss their food. I thought that I was getting some today, but I forgot sound 10 is when the buses change from like 3 per hour to 2 per hour and not met the 1 per hour that I was expecting, which started at 11.

Oh well.

The store felt so empty today. I had three days of at least 7 people up to 9 I think, to just 6 with only five of us on the floor. It felt like less and then I was mostly on register. It was odd. We were busy but it was a different kind of busy than what we had for the past three days.

The mannequins have been stripped so we are updating the look and prop for the store this week. I did not request or was assigned to the over night shift who will setting all that up. I just realized I will have to stash my on hold items somewhere else than where I left them tonight. I left a hold tag with them. But they are not in an ideal place. I’m not buying them until I get paid on Friday. I only grabbed them because my manager was transferring them to the clearance store.

Anyway, on my way home and amazingly my knee has started to feel normal again. I noticed it yesterday when I actually walked down the steps like a normal human being. So of course I have a new ache to take its place. But I’m dealing with it. My hand going numb on me is more of a pain right now.

Well, later.

Tic Tok is now entering my life

Tomorrow we, as in our own individual store, are going to do a tic tok  video and we have to wear a certain shirt that is a certain color. I knew what shirt, but I just found out about the color. White of course. An of course I don’t own one, because it’s white.

So I had to get one at closing today. And since I was buying something I got a yellow one of the same kind of shirt. Then for some reason my boss paid for me. Granted something else was going on, but I didn’t think she was going to pay for my shirts too. Cool.

Then I ran out to catch the bus, and I’m still waiting. What gives? It said I had 6 mins to get here and nothing.

I’ll see if I can post the video. It’s some silly thing where I shake a leg while holding my other knee??? I don’t know but everyone cracks up when telling me about it.

Later.
